Submissions are now closed for the UK’s one and only award celebrating social justice in children’s books.
We’re delighted that submissions for 2018 are nearly double the submissions we received in our inaugural year (2012). Either the Little Rebels Award is just getting better known… or could there be more creative minds out there ready and hungry for change? And more publishers receptive to those narratives of change? Let’s hope so!
In any case, a total of 38 publishers put forward their titles this year, from the major children’s publishing houses to the small indies with just one of two titles to their names. We’re really excited about the breadth and variety of titles put forward and can’t wait to get stuck into the longlisting.
Look out for the shortlist announcement on 3rd May 2018, followed by the winner’s announcement on 2nd June 2018 at the London Radical Bookfair.
