In a special panel event on the day, author Patrice Lawrence discussed radical fiction for children with Little Rebels shortlistees Gill Lewis (Sky Dancer), Elizabeth Laird (Welcome to Nowhere), Jessica Spanyol (Clive is a Nurse), Sita Brahmachari (Tender Earth) and Zanib Mian (The Muslims).
Then author Catherine Johnson took to the stage in the Great Hall at Goldsmiths University to announce the 2018 Little Rebels Award winner – Zanib Mian for The Muslims.
Gill Lewis was also honoured with a special commendation for having made the Little Rebels shortlist an amazing four times (with a win in 2015).
